My name is John Thomson. I am a member of the Tutoring Program staff for the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Education Department. It’s great to be part of this exciting team! We are a diverse group of enthusiastic educators and collaborators.
I genuinely enjoy working with my students, meeting their families, and doing whatever I can to help create the best possible educational experience that will not only impact their lives; but also their families. I have discovered so much about each of my students and being afforded the opportunity to help them achieve success is such a rewarding feeling. In addition, being able to work with K-12, all the way up to adulthood, has provided me with the unique perspective of teaching different strategies, dependent upon the academic level of each student.
I have a successful history of many years, working in various roles, in both Education and business endeavors. It has always been my passion to help my students succeed, and for their families to be proud of their accomplishments! Working at the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Education Department has allowed me to connect with my students on a more personal level and its great having the opportunity to share with them what I’ve been fortunate to learn.
I am a longtime Florida resident, having moved here from Boston in 1985. I have lived for many years with my family in our home in Sunrise, Florida. I look forward to an exciting future while working with our talented team of professionals to benefit the students and families of the Seminole Tribe of Florida (STOF).
