K-12 Academic Advisor, Immokalee and Naples Reservations

My name is Magdalie Dumornè.  I am pleased to be a part of a wonderful team with the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Education Department. Our department is a place where students, staff and parents can feel connected and respected and I believe all of this creates an atmosphere that fosters a respect for education and the possibilities that it creates.  As the K-12 Advisor, servicing the Immokalee and Naples communities I feel blessed to have been working in such a wonderful community since November of 2015.  My educational background includes a Master's degree in School Guidance Counselling from Saint Thomas University in Miami, Florida.  I bring a wide variety of experience, having previously worked as a Guidance Counselor, Teacher and ESOL chair with Miami-Dade and Lee County School Districts for over 20 years.  Currently, I am thrilled to be able to utilize my skills and expertise to build meaningful relationships with students, parents and my fellow colleagues to help students find their strengths and build upon those strengths to reach their fullest educational potential.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son.  I love being a part of the Immokalee community and I’m looking forward to partnering with you in ensuring your student’s success and continuing to cultivate positive school culture with families, students, and teachers – all working together to provide our students with great learning experiences.   After all, we invest in individuals, believing that education matters.  We’re caring for future generations to ensure that the important transformation and the gift of education is accessible to many at a young age. The Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Education Department empowers tribal members to keep their dreams and educational pursuits alive.

Hobbies: In my “SELF” time, one of my favorite things to do is reading spiritual books. When I’m not reading, I enjoy cooking Haitian cuisine and baking French desserts for my husband and son.
